Hidalgo County continues to assist families with flood relief

EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Hidalgo County Community Service Agency will host a flood recovery event to provide assistance to families who continue to recover from last month's historic storm.

The event is intended to offer emergency relief funds to help qualified families begin their recovery process.

The following is required to qualify for storm relief funds:

• Have been directly affected by the recent storm and provide photo proof of damage
• Provide a valid ID or driver's license for the head of household
• Provide proof of address (utility bill)
• Provide proof of income for all household members aged 18 and older
• Complete an application on-site

Funding is limited and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

The event will begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday, April 30 at the First Baptist Church located on 600 S. Kansas Ave. in Weslaco.
