HIDALGO COUNTY, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Hidalgo County Community Service Agency is providing relief and assistance to those affected by the recent storm in the Rio Grande Valley.
The agency is assisting those who come from low-income and vulnerable households affected by the floods.
Authorities say families can walk away with up to $500 worth in gift cards for gas and food.
Applicants must bring a completed application which can be found online at hidalgoCSA.org, a valid photo ID or driver's license for the head of the household, proof of income for the past 30 days for all household members 18 and older, photos of damages and proof of residency such as with a utility bill.
The assistance will be available at 9 p.m. Wednesday at two locations:
- Mercedes Recreation Center, located at 1202 N. Vermont Ave.
- Pharr Development and Research Center, located at 850 W. Dicker Rd.
Each event will allow 150 families to apply.
