Hidalgo County Commissioners considering extending emergency declaration

HIDALGO COUNTY, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Hidalgo County Commissioners Court is scheduled to meet Thursday morning to discuss extending its declaration of emergency.

In light of the recent floods that affected Hidalgo County, the commissioner's court is hosting a meeting at 11 a.m. to consider extending the declaration that was issued last week by Hidalgo County Judge Richard F. Cortez.

The declaration went into effect immediately and lasted for seven days. The Commissioners Court now has the option of extending this declaration during its emergency meeting.
