EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCental) — Hidalgo County District Clerk Laura Hinojosa was nominated on Friday for the District Clerk of the Year Award.
Hinojosa received the nod during the County & District Clerks’ Association of Texas (CDCAT) Region VIII Spring Meeting held in Eagle Pass, Texas.

According to the county's news release, every year, a county clerk and a district clerk are honored for outstanding contributions and notable service to the association, their counties, and the State of Texas.
"I am deeply honored and grateful to be nominated for the Clerk of the Year Award by my peers. Their recognition is a reflection of the collaborative spirit and support that exists within our clerk-family. Further, it is a true testament to the commitment and dedication of my amazing staff who go above and beyond to serve our constituents in Hidalgo County,” said Hinojosa.
The Clerk of the Year Awards will be presented to the two nominees receiving the largest number of votes cast during the annual CDCAT Conference set for June 8-12 in Sugar Land, Texas.
