HCSO: Two women arrested for illegal gambling at residence

EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office arrested two women on Monday for illegal gambling, according to its news release.

Investigators executed a search warrant at a residence on the 2100 block of Taylor Road in McAllen.

The women, according to authorities, were identified as Petra Rodriguez, 61, and Maria Lourdes Garcia, 64.

They were arrested on criminal charges of keeping a gambling place, possession of a gambling device/equipment, gambling promotion, and engaging in organized criminal activity.

This is an ongoing criminal investigation.
