HCSO asks for help in unsolved murder case

ALAMO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office continues to search for answers in connection with the disappearance of a carnival worker whose body was found last year near a field in rural Alamo.

Laura McKeown, a Tyler resident, was last seen Feb. 15, prompting a search to locate her.

She was last seen in the area of Cesar Chavez Road and Sioux Road in Alamo.

McKeown's body was found on March 10, nearly one month after she was reported missing at the 2300 block of N. Cesar Chavez Rd. in Alamo.

An autopsy examination revealed that McKeown was strangled to death. Her death was ruled a homicide.

Despite searching for answers to the events leading to her death, authorities have run out of leads to solve the case.

The Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office is asking for assistance in the ongoing unsolved homicide investigation.
