HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Harlingen South High School Mighty Hawk Marching Band Boosters is promoting a golf tournament fundraiser.
The funds raised will support the band's needs, such as equipment, travel, and meals. The band, led by director Ronnie Rios, has recently won first place in its class at Bands of America and was the grand champion at the Band Festival at La Joya and Queen City Marching Festival.
Registration is $450 per team and can be done through the Mighty Hawk Band Boosters' Facebook or website.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 22, with registration beginning at 7 a.m. and the tournament at 8 a.m., followed by breakfast sponsored by Rudy's Barbecue.
Contests include a putting contest and a golf ball drop by a fire truck of the Harlingen Fire Department.
