Harlingen’s RGV Humane Society to hold drive-thru vaccine clinic

The Rio Grande Valley Humane Society in Harlingen will hold a drive-thru vaccine clinic on Saturday, Oct. 25.

The event will be held at 18038 Garrett Road from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Pet owners need to register their cats or dogs ahead of the clinic, but it will still be held on a first-come, first-served basis.

The following requirements and restrictions are for all pets:

Cats

  • Cats MUST BE present to receive medications and/or vaccinations.
  • Pet must be at least 3 months old to be eligible for rabies vaccine.
  • Pet must be over 8 weeks old and weigh over 5 lbs to be eligible for Cat Revolution (Flea/Tick Preventative). 
  • ALL CATS must be in INDIVIDUAL carriers regardless of size. Cats must be held in the cabin of the vehicle. Cats CANNOT ride in the bed of the truck. 
  • There are NO refunds, reschedules or exchanges of any kind, for any reason.

Dogs

  • Dogs MUST BE present to receive medications and/or vaccinations.
  • Pet must be at least 6 weeks old to be eligible for DHPPV and Bordetella vaccine.
  • Pet must be at least 3 months old to be eligible for rabies vaccine.
  • Pet must be at least 4lbs to be eligible for Nexgard (Flea/Tick Preventative.)
  • Pet must be at least 6 weeks old to be eligible for Tri-heart (Heartworm Preventative.)
  • Clients purchasing Heartworm medication MUST present staff with a printed copy of a negative heartworm test that was performed within 12 months. 
  • ALL DOGS MUST be held in the cabin of the vehicle. Dogs CANNOT ride in the bed of the truck.
