HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Harlingen Police Department is asking those who were forced to leave their vehicles behind due to floodwaters to retrieve them when it is safe to do so.
In a social media post, Harlingen Police stated they empathize with the difficult circumstances and are continuously working to help the community.
Police ask those who had to leave their vehicles behind due to high floodwaters to retrieve their vehicle once the waters have receded.
City officials have already begun towing several vehicles due to the blocking of roadways and obstructing of lanes of travel.
Those who are in a flood-affected area and require assistance are asked to call Harlingen PD's non-emergency number at (956) 216-5940.
