Harlingen Municipal Court warns of text scams

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Harlingen Municipal Court is advising residents to be cautious of scams.

According to the court, they have been receiving multiple calls from residents about suspicious texts that appear to be coming from the Harlingen Municipal Court.

The court advised that those are scams and that the Harlingen Municipal Court will never text a driver to say that their driver's license is suspended.

Official court messages come through payment reminders or court appearance notifications.

"If you receive a message that seems suspicious, do not click any links or respond," the court stated.
