Harlingen, McAllen VA Clinis host blood drives

MCALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Both Harlingen and McAllen VA Clinics will hold a "Roll Up Your Sleeves" Blood Drive.

Vitalant Blood Center and the VA Texas Valley Coastal Bend Health Care System are hosting a series of blood drives. This is part of a nationwide effort by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to address the ongoing need for blood.

"We are a proud member of the Rio Grande Valley community and are doing our part to meet the constant need for blood and blood products," said Public Affairs Officer Hugo Martinez. "We ask Veterans, family members, and all members of the community to make the time to donate blood."

The blood drives are scheduled for:

Tuesday, June 3, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Harlingen VA Outpatient Clinic, 2106 Treasure Hills Blvd.

Thursday, June 6, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the McAllen VA Clinic, 901 East Hackberry Ave.

Walk-in donations will be accepted, and an ID is required. For future events, visit the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
