HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Norma Sepulveda announced she filed for reelection to pursue another term as Harlingen Mayor.
Sepulveda, born and raised in Harlingen, was sworn in as the first woman Mayor of the city in May 2022.
“I am honored to announce that I am running for re-election as Mayor of Harlingen,” said Sepulveda. “When the voters elected me three years ago, I promised to bring City Hall back to the people, to listen and take action, and to prioritize the citizens' voices. Together, we have made real progress, but there is more to do.”
In a release, Sepulveda says she has focused on economic growth, accessibility, public safety, infrastructure, and drainage under her leadership.
Additionally, Sepulveda says she has also helped raise $120,000 for local non-profits that serve the community in need.
Before becoming Mayor, she managed her Law office of Norma Sepulveda, PLLC, and remains active in practicing criminal and immigration law.
The election is expected to take place on November 4, 2025.
An event open to the community will take place on September 4, 2025, to kick off Sepulveda's campaign.
“I am grateful to those who believed in me from the beginning, and I am equally grateful to those who have allowed me to earn their trust through our work together,” Sepulveda said. “Harlingen’s future is bright, and I am committed to keeping our city moving forward.”
