Harlingen High School soccer coach allegedly sent porn to child

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The head soccer coach at Harlingen High School was arrested on charges of sending a pornographic video to a child.

The Harlingen Police Department arrested 31-year-old Joseph Allen Johnson on Monday after a report was filed against him.

According to police, a report was made against Johnson by a parent or guardian shortly before midnight on Sunday regarding the alleged video.

Johnson was arrested for the offense of selling, distributing, or displaying harmful material to a minor.

Harlingen High School released a statement on Johnson's arrest, stating he is no longer employed with the Harlingen Consolidated Independent School District.

"We prioritize the safety of our HCISD school community and thank the Harlingen Police Department for their partnership. Through our partnership, we were able to take swift action to address concerns regarding the former employee. The situation has been reported to the appropriate authorities, including but not limited to the Texas Education Agency," Harlingen CISD stated.

This is an ongoing investigation.
