Harlingen Health Expo offers free screenings and vendors

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Harlingen Parks and Recreation and the South Texas Research Institute held its inaugural Harlingen Health Expo on Thursday.

The free community event held at the Casa de Amistad featured health screenings and other medical services.

"We're providing community care for free, with immediate results, and it's just something to promote health and wellness. We want to continue to replicate this, and that's why we try to get a big variety of vendors from all industries here in Harlingen, and so we are just very happy to give back to the community," said Dr. Jamiless Lopez, community outreach liaison.
