Grupo Frontera bassist Brian Ortega leaves band

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Brian Ortega, known as the bassist for Mexican regional band Grupo Frontera, has announced on social media he is no longer associated with the group.

Ortega has been part of Grupo Frontera for over three years and was recently featured in the "¿Qué Haces Por Acá? ft. Mister Chivo" music video, where they filmed at the Alamo Pulga.

In a social media post, Ortega stated "Esta decisión no fue tomada por mi, y yo no tuve voz como se manejo. Y estoy seguro que como muchos de ustedes, al igual yo estoy sorprendido."

His quote translates to, "This decision was not made by me, and I had no voice in how it was handled. And I'm sure like many of you, I'm surprised as well."

Ortega added, "Quiero agradecerles por estos últimos 3 años y medio, y por la oportunidad de ser parte de algo que creció inmensamente y crear en lo que hoy se conoce como Grupo Frontera. No les deseo nada más que lo mejor, y mucho más éxito a medida que continúan este viaje."

His quote translates to, "I want to thank them for these last three and a half years and for the opportunity to be a part of something that grew immensely and allowing me to create in what is known today as Grupo Frontera. I wish them nothing but the best and more success as they continue this journey."

In the statement, Ortega said that he is already working on plans for the future and will share when the times comes.

As of the time Ortega posted his announcement, Grupo Frontera has not issued a statement or a comment on the issue.
