AUSTIN (KXAN) — Texas Gov. Greg Abbott announced his reelection campaign for a fourth term in Houston on Sunday evening, outlining a vision to keep Texas a conservative stronghold, according to a message shared by his team.

The event took place at East River 9, located at 65 Hirsch Road in Houston. While speaking to a crowd of supporters, Abbott reflected on his personal journey and political career. He farmed his reelection bid as a fight to preserve Texas values, according to his team.

According to his team, Abbott highlighted recent legislative wins and unveiled a slate of new proposals aimed at curbing local property tax increases.

National radio host Joe "Pags" moderated a roundtable discussion featuring Texans who credited conservative leadership for their success.
