Goalkeeper Combat Tournament celebrates fourth year

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Happening in August, the fourth anniversary of the Goalkeeper Combat Tournament will take place.

The tournament is exclusive to goalkeepers, divided by age categories, featuring a warm-up and elimination rounds.

Techniques discussed include side volleys and kicks. Approximately 200 goalkeepers from various locations, including Mexico and Texas, are registered.

The event takes place at the Las Palmas Community Center on Aug. 2 from 4:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Aug. 3 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. A registration fee of up to $60 is required.

Participants are advised to bring water, while refreshments and snacks will be provided.

The tournament is open to children born in 2019 to high school seniors.
