Gladys Porter Zoo to host children's play day

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Children's Play Day at the Gladys Porter Zoo is taking place this month.

The event is designed to promote early childhood education, with students from Texas Southmost College Teacher Education Program offering a variety of interactive learning stations for children to enjoy.

"This Play Day is a playful invitation for our community to engage in play and learning," says Diana H. Cortez-Castro, Program Coordinator. "We hope you will join us in advocating for children`s right to play, and we look forward to seeing you there."

Visitors who purchase general admission or a zoo membership will be able to attend the event for free.

The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Gladys Porter Zoo.
