Gladys Porter Zoo celebrates annual Kids Appreciation Day

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Gladys Porter Zoo will celebrate National Kids Day by hosting its 21st Annual Kids Appreciation Day on Saturday.

At the event, children will receive a passport that will take them around the zoo to visit various activity stations centered around health and wellness, safety, animal conservation, and more.

Their vital partnership makes it possible for us to distribute 1,500 backpacks filled with essential school supplies to our Valley students, an initiative we eagerly anticipate as a true highlight every single year. The first 1,500 children to pick up their passports will also receive a backpack filled with school supplies to help them kick-start the upcoming school year.

Once their passports are complete, children can enter a raffle to win bicycles, gift cards, and backpacks filled with even more school supplies.
