Funeral procession to take place Monday in New York for helicopter crash victim

RENSSELAER, New York (ValleyCentral) — The Rensselaer Police Department in New York announced it will be escorting CW2 Casey Frankoski from the Division of Military and Naval Affairs at Albany Airport to Lyon’s Funeral home in Rensselaer Monday.

National Guard helicopter crashes in Starr County, killing 3

Frankoski was among three who lost their lives on March 8 in a helicopter crash in La Grulla, Texas. New York State Trooper John Grassia and US Border Patrol agent Chris Luna also died in the crash. Sergeant Jacob Pratt was the lone survivor of the incident and remains hospitalized for his injuries.

Services for Frankoski will begin at the Division of Military and Naval Affairs onto Wade Rd., continuing onto Wolf Rd., turning left onto Albany Shaker Rd. continuing to Northern Blvd. to I-90 East to 787 South across the Dunn Memorial Bridge turning left onto Broadway and traveling the entire length of Broadway to Washington Ave., onto Farley Dr., back out onto Washington Ave. and ending at Lyon’s Funeral home.

Edinburg hosts vigil for victims of fatal helicopter crash

Anyone wishing to pay their respects is asked to line the escort route to honor Frankoski.  

"While we don’t know the exact time this escort will be coming through the city it is anticipated to be anywhere from 4:00pm to 6:00pm," a post from the police department read.
