Freedom Fest returns to Harlingen next week

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The City of Harlingen welcomes the community to its annual Fourth of July Freedom Festival.

"The event is jam-packed with live music and kids' activities and, of course, delicious food," said Edgar Serna, Events Manager with Visit Harlingen. "We also have a really big, extravagant fireworks show at the end of our celebration."

Headlining this year's Freedom Fest are De Parranda and David Marez.

The city anticipates the free event will draw up to 7,000 people.

"Freedom Fest is a free event. Bring your entire family out here with you. Bring your friends. It's a perfect way to celebrate the Fourth of July," Serna continued.

Freedom Fest will be held from 5 to 10 p.m., Friday, July 4, at Lon C. Hill Park, located on 1216 Fair Park Blvd.
