Free health screenings happening at DHR Health Brownsville Fall Fest

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — DHR Health Brownsville invites the community to participate in its Fall Fest & Health Fair.

The event is scheduled from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday at the DHR Health Brownsville Hospital at 4750 North Expressway 77. The event is free and open to the public.

The inaugural family-friendly event encourages the public to take charge of their health and celebrate the season.

There will be an array of activities for children, including a costume contest. The Brownsville Police Department will also be in attendance and will conduct fingerprinting services for children.

Adults can expect free health screenings and the opportunity to speak one-on-one with DHR physicians and healthcare specialists.

"We hope to see everyone at the Fall Fest and Health Fair at our hospital," said Aida Coronado, DHR Health Brownsville Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. "Our goal at DHR Health Brownsville is to make health care accessible while creating opportunities for families to connect with our providers in a relaxed and enjoyable setting."

Attendees can participate in:

  • Free health screenings that will include hernia, heart, and BMI screenings, blood pressure checks, and liver scans (fasting must be done 4 hours prior to exam).
  • Meet and greet opportunities with DHR Health Brownsville physicians, along with the hospital care team and specialists.
  • Wellness education booths that will offer tips on preventive care and nutrition.

Participants are encouraged to arrive early for screenings and activities. No registration is required.
