Fossum now serves as Chief Operating Officer of Texas A&M University at Galveston.
He is no stranger to the Rio Grande Valley, growing up here where he said he watched the first moon landing at the age of 11.
Fossum will be a keynote speaker in the upcoming STEM national conference.
That conference will take place in McAllen later this month and is expected to be a great educational opportunity for students.
