BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Food Bank RGV announced HEB Hunger Relief as the Title and Presenting Sponsor for the third annual Empty Bowls Lower Valley event.

The food bank's news release said the Empty Bowls Lower Valley is a significant fundraising event that brings together the community to combat hunger and support local families in need.

With HEB Hunger Relief's generous support, an additional 100,000 meals will be provided to the community, ensuring more families have access to nutritious food.

"HEB has been a steadfast partner who is always ready to help the Food Bank RGV in our mission to serve those in need. Their sponsorship will make a profound impact on our ability to raise awareness about food insecurity in the Lower Valley," said Libby A. Saenz, CEO of Food Bank RGV.

The event will feature a variety of cuisine from some of Brownsville's favorite restaurants, including Lola’s Bistro, Vera's Backyard Bar-B-Que, Vermillion’s, 1848 BBQ, Spanky’s Burgers, and Mr. Taco Taqueria, among others. With the price of admission, guests will enjoy tastings from over 12 restaurants, live music, and the opportunity to participate in silent auctions and raffles.

The event is set for Saturday, June 15 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Brownsville Events Center. Tickets are available now and will also be available at the door.
