Flores Farms JV receives first Bale of Cotton

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Flores Farms JV had the first bale of cotton this season, not just in the Valley, but also in the U.S.

On Tuesday, about 2,800 pounds of cotton were weighed at Willamar.

The Flores family told ValleyCentral that Teofilo Flores has been operating the farm since the 1970s and has never had the first bale.

The cotton was grown in a field West of Brownsville, just off Highway 281.
