HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Harlingen City Commissioners met Monday night to recognize first responders and organizations who have stepped in for flood rescue efforts.
It has been nearly two weeks since the Rio Grande Valley saw a historic rainfall that devastated homes in Starr, Hidalgo, Cameron and Willacy counties.
The City of Harlingen honored those who stepped in for the community.
"Our first responders, public works teams, public buildings staff, the American Red Cross, our dedicated city departments, and every single person who played an essential role in our emergency response," the City of Harlingen announced. "In Harlingen, we are family. And together, we are #HarlingenStrong."
