Firehouse Subs hosts touch-the-truck for Firefighters' Day

HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Firehouse Subs honored International Firefighters' Day by hosting the Touch-the-Truck event.

The event was held on Sunday at the Firehouse Subs restaurant, located in Harlingen Corners, 2709 West Expressway 83, Ste 150.

Attendees had an opportunity for a hands-on experience with a firetruck while meeting the frontline heroes who operate them.

"We wanted to honor our firefighters, and also for the children. So they could have a little conversation, know a little bit more about the firefighters and what it is they do," said Adriana Vela, co-owner of Firehouse Subs Harlingen.

At the event, Harlingen Fire Department Station 7 was in attendance, providing a demonstration during the event.
