HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — After a fire destroyed Johnny's True Value in Harlingen on Tuesday, fire investigators have yet to investigate its cause.

According to Assistant Fire Chief Ruben Balboa, the building is still producing too much smoke, making it difficult to access the building.

City fire officials and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) will begin their investigation as soon as it is safe to do so.

Officials report Tyler Avenue is open again. Harrison Avenue, in the area right in front of Johnny's, is closed.

The side across the area is open for traffic to allow businesses to open on Wednesday, which were forced to shut down on Tuesday.
