SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) announced Thursday the final undercard matchups for the Most Valuable Prospects 16 Championship Double Header.
MVP’s Mexican standout and the WBA’s #6-ranked lightweight contender, Yolanda Vega (10-1, 1 KO), will face 24-year-old Houston, Texas talent Miranda Reyes (7-3-1, 3 KOs) in an 8-round super lightweight bout.
Also featured on the preliminary card will be MVP’s 3x US national boxing champion and high-fashion model Alexis “Chop Chop” Chaparro (5-0, 5 KOs) vs. Mexico’s David Gutierrez (4-0, 2 KOs) in a six-round middleweight bout.
MVP’s 2x US national amateur champion and 19-year-old talent Alexander Gueche (9-0, 6 KOs) will face 22-year-old Weslaco native Jaden Burnias (7-4-2, 6 KOs) in a 6-round super bantamweight bout at 122lbs, and 21-year-old Cuban prospect Pedro Veitia (6-0, 6 KOs) will take on 19-year-old Mexican prospect Xavier Zuniga (4-0, 3 KOs) in a 6-round super welterweight bout at 154lbs.
The company previously announced the Most Valuable Prospects 16 Championship Double Header will be headlined by Mexico’s WBC world champion Lourdes Juarez (38-4, 5 KOs) vs. MVP’s Mexican superstar and #1 WBA contender Yesica Nery Plata (30-2, 3 KOs) in a 10-round women’s world championship fight at 108lbs for the WBC light flyweight world title.
The co-main event will feature Brownsville native Omar Juarez (19-2, 7 KOs) vs. Caguas, Puerto Rico’s Omar Rosario (14-2, 4 KOs) in a 10-round bout at 140lbs in the super lightweight division.
The 16th event in the series, in partnership with Boxlab Promotions, will continue the commitment from MVP co-founders Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian to highlight the world’s best up-and-coming boxing talent.
