PHARR, Texas (ValleyCentral) — FEMA has approved financial assistance for over 8,176 Texas households that survived the severe storms and flooding that occurred March 26 through March 28 in Cameron, Hidalgo, Starr, and Willacy counties.
According to the FEMA release, FEMA has approved over $54.6 million in financial assistance for Texas households.
The U.S Small Business Administration has provided over $7.9 million in disaster loans.
Additionally, the FEMA release states that to this date, 7,765 people have visited the Disaster Recovery Centers in the four South Texas counties.
The centers are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and closed on Sunday.
Appealing may be offered to those who received a letter from FEMA and disagree with the decision or the award amount. Additional information may be needed to continue processing the application.
