WESLACO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — An employee with the South Texas Independent School District was arrested on Wednesday following a nearly yearlong child porn investigation, according to a criminal complaint.

The investigation, which began in November 2024, revealed thousands of files associated with an IP address in Weslaco were downloaded and contained "sexually explicit and or sexual penetration videos of toddlers and prepubescent children," documents show.

FBI special agents executed a search warrant at the Weslaco home, where they identified Roel Flores Jr. as the sole occupant.

During the search warrant inside Flores' home, FBI special agents found a laptop that was actively downloading "age-difficult pornography."

In a bedroom, agents also found "two life-like latex replicas of infant-sized vaginal and anal cavities," which were believed to be used for masturbatory purposes, the complaint says.

Other items found inside Flores' home include lubricant, a box of condoms, a dildo, a latex vaginal masturbatory aid, a handkerchief, and a pair of children's underwear stained in the crotch area.

Flores remains in federal custody pending a detention hearing scheduled for next week.

The South Texas Independent School District released a statement following Flores' arrest.

"On Wednesday evening we were notified that one of our Virtual Academy staff members was taken into custody by federal law enforcement. We continue to work hand-in-hand with the FBI who is conducting the investigation. We are unable to provide any additional information on this ongoing matter. All media inquiries should be directed to the FBI San Antonio Field Office."
