Falcon: When we prepare quality teachers, we’re building stronger schools and a stronger community

MCALLEN, Texas – McAllen Economic Development Corporation has joined Region One Education Service Center’s efforts to expand access to teacher certification by contributing $12,600 to support aspiring educators. 

A check presentation was held on July 21, 2025, at the McAllen Chamber of Commerce to recognize the contribution and celebrate the launch of the partnership. 

Marissa Falcon, administrator for Region One ESC’s Educator Preparation & Development Program, said MEDC’s contribution directly supports McAllen residents who are ready to step into the classroom and make a difference. 

“When we prepare quality teachers, we’re building stronger schools and a stronger community,” Falcon said.
