Failure to control speed causes three vehicle crash on State Highway 48, says DPS

CAMERON COUNTY, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A three-vehicle crash on Friday temporarily closed State Highway 48 near the Los Lobos Bridge in Brownsville, according to a TxDOT news release.

A spokesperson for the Texas Department of Public Safety said around 6 a.m., one of the vehicles failed to control its speed, causing a chain reaction.

Two people were sent to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The road has now been cleared and reopened, according to DPS.
