SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Laguna Madre Water District is currently working on an emergency water leak on South Padre Island.
The affected area is East Retama Street and East Mesquite Street. The estimated time of completion is noon today.
For the work to be done safely and properly, LMWD has shut down the water system in the affected area for an extended period of time. Some areas will be experiencing low water pressure or no water at all.
Work can be postponed due to weather conditions or unforeseen LMWD emergencies, according to the district's news release.
