EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The South Texas Health System of Edinburg is celebrating the arrival of a baby boy this Fourth of July.

On Friday at approximately 3:15 p.m., weighing 8lbs and measuring 22 inches long, the Avalos family welcomed Ricardo Mateo at the Maternity Center in STHS.

Baby Ricardo's arrival made him the first baby delivered at an STHS facility on Independence Day, according to STHS's release.

Ricardo's original due date was on July 11. He received a baby's first Fourth of July onesie from the staff at STHS in Edinburg.
