Edinburg PD warns residents of scam calls

EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Edinburg Police Department is warning residents of the dangers of scam calls.

Police say the con artists are claiming to be with Medicare with the City of Edinburg.

The public is asked to remember that personal information should never be divulged over the phone. Scammers will attempt to trick you by soliciting payment over the phone.

Police say these scammers have gone as far as to call the police department themselves.
