EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Edinburg Police Department is preparing to host its 29th annual National Night Out event this week.
The event is a tradition celebrated by police departments nationwide to promote community building.
Edinburg PD's National Night Out will feature family-friendly activities, vendors, and live entertainment, including a performance by Edinburg native Bobby Pulido.
Free school backpacks will also be available at the event while supplies last.
"We're proud to continue this tradition that brings our community and officers together," said Edinburg Police Chief Jaime Ayala. "National Night Out is more than just a celebration; it's about building trust, sharing safety resources, and making lasting connections."
The Edinburg National Night Out will begin at 6 p.m., Tuesday, August 5, at the Promenade Park Amphitheater, 201 W. McIntyre St.
