Edinburg PD: Teen girl shot inside her home, suspect at large

EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Authorities are searching for a suspect who shot a 14-year-old girl early Thursday morning.

The shooting happened inside the teenager's home on the 2100 block of Carlos Drive in Edinburg at approximately 3:30 a.m.

Upon arrival, police discovered the teen had been shot in the lower back. 

An investigation revealed the shooting occurred after a verbal altercation.

Two rounds struck the teen after shots were fired at her front door, police say.

According to Edinburg officials, the young girl was immediately transported to an area hospital and sustained non-life threatening injuries.

Authorities are still searching for the suspect in this case.
