"The troops, as much as they love John, you know we are a family and so today they wanted to come out and be here, be present for Ryan's first day of his senior year," said Police Chief Ayala. "In place of John, who will never be replaced, we're here to stand with him and his wife and his son to make sure that Ryan knows he is supported during his last year of school."

Officers from Edinburg PD showed support by welcoming Investigator Olivarez's son, John Ryan, with hugs, handshakes and a goodie basket as a reminder that he is not alone and the department will continue to be by his side.
