EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A 33-year-old man who escaped police and climbed onto a rooftop in Edinburg last month will be arraigned Thursday.

The incident occurred on June 9 after police received a call about the man acting suspiciously while holding a walking stick along the 900 block of Los Ebanos Court.

Once police arrived at the scene and issued commands, the man ignored police and escaped on foot onto a nearby rooftop.

During the escape, the man grabbed a shovel to take with him on the rooftop along with his walking stick.
