Edinburg man on rooftop taken into custody

EDINBURG, Texas ( ValleyCentral) — A 33-year-old Edinburg man has been taken into custody after attempting to jump from a rooftop onto a truck below, says a release from the City of Edinburg.

This afternoon, the Edinburg police responded to a report about a man acting suspiciously while carrying a shovel along Schunior Rd and Jackson Rd.

The man ran away from the police and onto a nearby rooftop.

At approximately 6:30 p.m., officers were able to secure the man after attempting to jump from the rooftop.

The individual will undergo evaluation and medical treatment.

Charges will be filed following his release.
