Edinburg man killed in ATV, car crash

EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — One man was killed overnight following a two-vehicle crash, the Texas Department of Public Safety stated.

At approximately 8:33 p.m., on Saturday, Oct. 25, deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash on East Ingle Road north of Jasman Road, north of Edinburg.

DPS said a Can-Am Maverick side-by-side vehicle, occupied by a driver and a passenger, was going westbound on East Ingle Road when a Nissan Kicks, driven by a man, was also traveling in the same direction on East Ingle Road behind the Can-Am.

According to a news release from DPS, the driver of the Nissan attempted to pass the Can-Am on the left side and collided with the ATV.

Emergency Medical Services arrived at the scene and both drivers for injured; however, they were not taken to the hospital.

The passenger of the Can-Van, identified as 25-year-old Juan Antonio Villasana of Edinburg, died from his injuries.

Neither driver was injured. No worded yet if any charges will be filed.

This is an ongoing investigation.
