Edinburg inner-city rivals clash for NBC 23 Game of the Week

EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Inner-city rivals Edinburg and Edinburg North square off at Richard R. Flores Stadium in NBC 23's Game of the Week.

Despite Edinburg North's 1-8 record in 2025, the Cougars have bragging rights with last year's 7-6 win over the Bobcats.

As for Edinburg, the Bobcats have something to play for aside from bragging rights.

Edinburg sits at 5-4 heading into the final week of the regular season, and through four district games, the Bobcats sit at 2-2 (3rd in District 31-6A).

The old cliche always says to throw out the record books when two rivals collide, and that is certainly the case with Friday night's matchup.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at the Richard R. Flores Stadium, located on 1800 S. Stadium Dr.
