Driving through San Benito this week: Prepare to slow down

SAN BENITO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — If you drive through San Benito on your morning commute to work, odds are you have already encountered some of the lane closures happening on I-69E. The Texas Department of Transportation says these closures can be expected for the rest of the week.

Drivers can anticipate lane closures and delays until Friday on I-69E on San Benito at the old FM 732 overpass.

A TxDOT contractor is doing maintenance work on the southbound and northbound expressway main lanes.

Crews will be working on the roads daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Drivers are encouraged to respect work zones by slowing down and obeying posted signs.
