MISSION, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office is investigating a drive-thru robbery that happened over the weekend in rural Mission.
Deputies responded to the robbery at 10:14 p.m. on Saturday at Doffin Road and 5 Mile Road.
A preliminary investigation determined the suspect stole a cell phone from the victim and drove off from the scene in a black Cadillac.
While on patrol, deputies located the black Cadillac hours after it was stolen at approximately 1:51 a.m. Sunday.
Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the driver refused, leading to a car chase.
With the help of the Texas Department of Public Safety, the chase ended near U.S. Highway 281 and Trenton Road in Edinburg.
Authorities identified the driver as a 29-year-old man.
The driver was taken into custody, where he is expected to face multiple charges, which include robbery and evading arrest.
