Driscoll, UTRGV and Food Bank RGV to distribute food bags

EDINBURG, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Driscoll Children's Hospital Rio Grande Valley is partnering with community leaders to host its inaugural food distribution event.

The Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley and the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley will join Driscoll for Give Back Day.

All partners will distribute approximately 1,050 food bags and promote wellness to families in the region.

The free event will also highlight healthy eating on a budget, while offering recipes and wellness resources.

Food bags will be assembled from 7 to 10 a.m., followed by the distribution from 1 to 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 10.

The event will be held at Robert and Janet Vackar Stadium, 1616 S. Raul Longoria Rd. in Edinburg.
