Docs: Mission firefighter continuously sexually abused child relative

MISSION, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Documents obtained by ValleyCentral revealed new details in the arrest of a Mission firefighter.

Juan Luis Garcia Jr., 50, has been charged with continuous sexual abuse of a child, a first-degree felony, according to the McAllen Police Department.

Garcia is accused of continuously sodomizing a relative under the age of 10.

The child made an outcry and when interviewed by forensic investigators at the Child Advocacy Center was consistent with their statements regarding the continuous abuse.

ValleyCentral reached out to Garcia’s employer, the City of Mission for comment on the arrest and received the following statement:

“The City of Mission Fire Department is aware of the recent arrest of one of our  firefighters.  At this time, the City has not been provided information regarding the reason for the arrest or the charges. Once the City receives information we will proceed in accordance with City policies and take action if necessary.”
