Dallas Cowboys make Round 1 selection in 2025 NFL Draft

FRISCO (SILVER STAR NATION) — The newest addition to the roster of America’s Team was selected in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft on Thursday night, April 24, 2025.

With the 12th overall pick in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys selected Tyler Booker, an offensive guard from the University of Alabama

Tyler Booker was a 2-year starter for the Crimson Tide and was named an All-American in his junior year. His large frame, long arms, and weight of over 300 pounds make him an imposing figure for opposing defenses.

Booker was a team captain at Alabama who describes himself as a "natural-born leader." According to an anonymous NFL scout, he "keeps everyone accountable" in his locker room.

Booker is a decisive blocker who is always looking to make a play or put a defender on the ground. He's been on record saying, "I make guys not love football anymore."

The Cowboys once again used a first-round pick to address the offensive line, and with the departure of future Hall of Famer Zack Martin, Booker fills an immediate need for Dallas. It's also now the third offensive lineman for the Cowboys named Tyler.

Booker has had a mission to be in the NFL since he was in grade school, and on Thursday night, that mission was accomplished.

Looking ahead to Day 2 of the 2025 NFL Draft

The 2025 NFL Draft will continue on Friday, April 25, with rounds 2 and 3, in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Rounds 4 through 7 will take place on Saturday, April 26.

• Saturday, April 26 — Rounds 4-7 — 11:00 a.m. Central

The 2025 draft class is a deep one, with many quality players and a number of positions of need for the Cowboys.
