HARLINGEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Cyclobia Brownsville will host its "Travelling Through Time" event on Oct. 17.

The city will close two miles of public roads to cars and open them to cyclists, pedestrians, and the community.

Registration is not required; participants can find maps, parking information, and bike rental details on the website or Facebook.

The event features themes from different decades: the 70s at Linear Park, the 80s at Washington Park, and the 90s at Market Square.

Activities include free bike rentals for all ages, and the event encourages costumes and family participation.

Participants are advised to bring reusable water bottles and IDs for bike rentals.

The event will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday at East Seventh Street and East Adams Street, from Ringgold to Adams and from Seventh to 12th Street.
