Crime Stoppers tips lead to 5 arrests in fatal Brownsville shooting

The Brownsville Police Department on Tuesday said that two men and three juveniles have been arrested for a fatal shooting in 2023 after Crime Stoppers tips led investigators to the suspects.

In a Facebook video, police spokeswoman Abril Luna identified the men as 21-year-old Jorge Angel Gallegos and 19-year-old Ethan Gallegos.

The men and the juveniles are charged with murder and engaging in organized criminal activity.

Luna did not disclose the ages of the juveniles, but said the main suspect is a minor and was arrested on April 16. She also said another juvenile was arrested in Harlingen on April 17.

Jorge Angel Gallegos was also arrested on April 16 and police arrested Ethan Gallegos and the other juvenile on Tuesday, Luna said.

They are accused of the murder of 22-year-old Adam Hunter Garza, who was shot and killed on Dec. 23, 2023 in the 3200 block of East 28th Street.

Garza had arranged to meet with one of the suspects to sell vape products when he was robbed and fatally shot.
